When Italian Meets the Middle East – Popolo, Shoreditch

As the weather’s getting colder and rainier *sighes* it’s time to get in preparation of switching up from those super Summery, floral (and totally Instagrammable) rooftop bars to those cosier, food for the soul kind of joints. You know that good old food for the heart that hugs your stomach and makes you put on those extra 3 Winter pounds. Embrace it!

So grab your woollys and prepare to feast with your heart at Popolo – Shoreditch’s alternative to eating as the Italian’s do.

Popolo offers all the rustic yet simplistic hearty Italian delicacies that will have your food soul (yes, it is totally a thing) begging for more. You won’t find pizza here, but you will find a tantalising selection of antipasti’s and beautiful main courses which present to you a fusion between traditional Italian dishes and exotic Middle Eastern influences.

Dine on delights such as luxurious Black Risotto with Cuttlefish, Grilled Octopus with Baba Ganoush or my personal fave, Pork Cheek with lashings of Porcini Butter. YUM. They mostly come as ‘little plates’ so order up, grab some mates/dates and enjoy this fusion of flavours in a rustic style setting.

TIP: try getting a table downstairs, it overlooks their open kitchen!
